WRITING FICTION FOR YOUNG ADULTS
A Fiction Workshop | $30
Location: S1, The Charles Wheatley Main Building

The books we remember most often found us when we were young.
In this dynamic workshop, acclaimed author Lilliam Rivera explores the craft of writing fiction for young adults, offering practical insights into creating characters, stories, and worlds that resonate with today's teen readers.
Together, participants will examine what makes young adult fiction so powerful, from authentic voice and emotional depth to conflict, identity, friendship, belonging, and the experiences that shape us as we come of age.
Through discussion, guided exercises, and examples drawn from contemporary YA literature, writers will learn techniques for creating stories that feel honest, engaging, and impossible to forget.
