LYRICAL VOICES: A Poetry Workshop - BVI Lit Fest 2026 - $30.00

Saturday, 7 November 2026

9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

LYRICAL VOICES A Poetry Workshop | $30

Location: H1, The Charles Wheatley Main Building

Facilitator: Yara Liceaga

Poetry begins with a voice. The challenge is learning how to make it unforgettable.

In Lyrical Voices, poet Yara Liceaga invites participants into the creative process through an exploration of rhythm, imagery, sound, and language. Through writing exercises, experimentation, and discussion, participants will discover new ways to shape their ideas into poems that resonate on and beyond the page.

This workshop creates space to play with language, take creative risks, and explore the techniques poets use to transform ordinary observations into powerful expressions.

Drawing inspiration from memory, culture, music, place, and imagination, participants will be encouraged to develop work that feels authentic, intentional, and uniquely their own.
